Splice..What have they created

Ahh another piece for the contest I get to critique.

It seems pretty nice I've gotta say, a little unoriginal in design(it's been done many times of course but hasn't everything eh?)

The line art is nice and if there's any nasty mistakes in it they are pleasantly covered up by the colours and the background. Anatomically it seems as accurate as I dare to presume, I'm not the expert on hybrid anatomy after all^^ The only thing I don't get/like is the spikes on the inside of the tail, are they legs or spines because if they're legs they won't work very well and if they're spines they're going to get in the way.

The colours look good I guess, though there is something off-putting about the way it's done that I can't quite explain or even put my finger on to be honest. Regardless it's not bad, one thing I would mention is to try and get some colour variation rather than just different shades of one colour for the entire creature. It just adds some interest to the image and makes it a little more realistic.
